Parsippany, NJ August, 2009—Interactive Media Associates, Inc. (IMA), a digital agency specializing in the planning, development, and marketing of Web services, today announced the release of its latest performance arts Web site for Boston Ballet. The site can be viewed at http://www.bostonballet.org.
IMA and Boston Ballet developed a dynamic new Web site, integrating video, virtual tours, stunning photography, and exceptional functionality. As Boston Ballet prepared to open their new season in their new home at the Boston Opera House, IMA worked closely with the Company to complete the new site within aggressive time frames. The dramatic and creative site design was based on a new brand identity for the Ballet, developed by Korn Design
Visitors to http://www.bostonballet.org can now purchase single ticket performances, new subscriptions and merchandise all online. They can also become a donor, meet the dancers and artistic staff, and learn about the Ballet and the School through an updated information architecture and easy-to-use navigation. A post launch release will give students of the multi-branch Boston Ballet School the ability to register online.
IMA developed an integrated calendar to help Boston Ballet attendees, supporters and students get a quick glance at what events and performances are going on throughout the Company.
Based on IMA’s deep understanding of the way performing arts companies do business, the company created the new site on its Enterprise Performing Arts Framework, a revolutionary new approach. This framework integrates content management, eCommerce, and box office software into a single system, leveraging each tool for its own particular strengths.
IMA’s framework using the Ektron content management solution will help Boston Ballet staff maintain the site with much greater flexibility and reliability than ever before. The ElasticPath eCommerce application gives Boston Ballet the ability to create special promotions, cross-sell and upsell, create personal profiles for repeat visitors, and consolidate all purchasable items into a single shopping cart. And the use of the Tessitura Arts Enterprise box office system means that Web sales are fully integrated with box office and phone purchases.

About Boston Ballet
Since 1963, Boston Ballet has been one of the leading dance companies in the world on stage, in the studio and in the community. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen and Executive Director Barry Hughson, the Company maintains an internationally acclaimed repertoire and the largest ballet school in North America, Boston Ballet School.
Boston Ballet maintains a repertoire of classical, neo-classical and contemporary works, ranging from full-length story ballets to new works by some of today's finest choreographers. Boston Ballet's second company, Boston Ballet II, is comprised of pre-professional dancers who gain experience by performing with the Company and independently, presenting lecture-demonstrations and special programs to audiences throughout the Northeast.
Boston Ballet School, the official school of Boston Ballet, has a long-standing dedication to excellence and access and reaches more than 10,000 students ages 2-adult each year through Boston Ballet School classes, Summer Dance Workshop, Summer Dance Program, Citydance, Taking Steps, and Adaptive Dance. The wide array of dance programs are held at four studio locations in Boston, Newton, Norwell and Marblehead, as well as community centers and in Boston Public Schools.
