iMedia Welcomes John Swanson, Vice President of Business Development

When Chuck and Joel visited Ektron Headquarters in New Hampshire last month, they decided to ask John Swanson, Ektron’s Director of Strategic Alliances at Ektron and long-time associate of both Tihuma and iMedia, if he could suggest anyone who could help iMedia with sales.

“We do extremely well with word-of-mouth and referral business,” said iMedia COO, Chuck Titone, “to say nothing of recurring client engagements. But as the company continues to grow, we realized it was time to find someone dedicated to promoting sales.”

They knew that John, whose in-depth expertise in not only of Ektron’s Content Management System (CMS) but in a wide variety of tools that create or enhance online destinations, would understand exactly the type of person they were looking for.

“It’s often difficult to find someone with the right combination of skills and knowledge,” said Joel Macaluso, iMedia’s CEO. “Sales ability is only one part of equation. It’s imperative that someone in that position understands what we offer – including options that don’t yet exist, but which our talented development team can devise – and can offer solid, practical, yet visionary advice to clients and prospective clients regarding which solutions will serve them best.”

So when John suggested that he himself might be open to taking the position, Chuck and Joel were thrilled. “We could not imagine a better fit,” said Joel. “John is an experienced marketing professional who knows our business inside and out.”

John is a consulting software/ IT veteran with more than a decade of experience in Sales and client satisfaction. For the past six years he has served as Director of Strategic Alliances at Ektron, a developer of web content management systems. In this role, he managed the top interactive agencies which leverage Ektron to achieve their client’s online goals.

Previous to Ektron, John worked at CA Technologies for more than five years as a Sales Specialist. In this position, he provided his clients with solutions appropriate to their business objectives from CA’s diverse offerings.

John lives in New Hampshire with his wife Candice and their two young sons Brady and Sam. When he’s not helping clients find the best solutions for their business goals, he enjoys spending time with his family and occasionally playing a round of golf or enjoying outdoor activities such as surfing, wakeboarding or anything else related with being in, on, our under the water.

John is now responsible for driving continued sales growth for iMedia, Inc., which he is certain to achieve with his customer-centric, consultative sales approach.
