Earlier this summer iMedia had the pleasure of attending the Lone Star State for Susan G. Komen’s 2015 Leadership Conference. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, members of the iMedia team went as Komen agency partners, participating in two full days of informative and inspiring sessions.

Some included a panel with members from the Scientific Advisory Board debunking Breast Cancer myths, while others were emotional moments such as a march of breast cancer survivors and survivor stories.

iMedia’s Jennifer Graeff explained,

“Seeing all of these people come together with a common goal – to eradicate breast cancer – with such passion and determination was truly inspiring. It’s been an honor to work on the Komen.org project. It hit home even more when I had the opportunity to meet and talk to some of the people that were able to use the site to get more information and resources for their Breast Cancer journey.”

The first day of the conference concluded with a ceremony where Susan G. Komen presented iMedia, along with our partner Twist Mktg, the 2015 Agency of the Year award. Komen explained, “these dedicated partners stand out for their creativity, strategic leadership, growth and contributions to Komen’s mission.” This honor was presented to both teams because of their joint leadership on the design and development of the new komen.org website.

iMedia Given Komen Conference Award

Launched in September of 2014, iMedia worked with Twist Mktg to build a site that would help visitors from all aspects of the breast cancer journey find relevant information efficiently. These target audiences consisted of survivors, supporters, caregivers, researchers, volunteers, and both current and potential donors.

The site went live just in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where it recorded:

  • 76% increase in site traffic
  • 59% increase in online revenue
  • 12% increase in engagement

While the newly mobile-responsive design of komen.org has resulted in a 69% increase in the number of mobile sessions compared to the same period of time the previous year.

We thank Susan G. Komen for such a fantastic honor and feel lucky to work with such a rewarding organization.
