Transforming the digital experience for one of Silicon Valley’s largest financial institutions

Challenge

Star One Credit Union set out to elevate its member experience with a modern digital platform capable of supporting all touchpoints, including web, mobile, tablet, and digital screens. Beyond improving day-to-day engagement, they needed a centralized way to create, manage, and distribute content, streamline data collection, and surface user insights. At the same time, the platform had to help attract a new generation of younger, digital-first members, so Star One could remain competitive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. The result needed to scale with their ambitions, enabling personalized digital experiences for both current and prospective members. 

With an ambitious timeline and a simultaneous rollout of updated branding across six third-party partner sites, the project presented an exciting opportunity for coordinated innovation. Ensuring consistency, accelerating content production, and uniting multiple external teams, while redesigning the primary website, called for a highly organized and scalable approach that the team was ready to deliver. 

Solution

Member-First Redesign 

iMedia delivered an elegant, intuitive redesign that modernized Star One’s digital presence while creating a more seamless journey for members across devices. The new design established a strong visual foundation to unify experiences across Star One’s expanding digital ecosystem. 

Web Development – Xperience by Kentico 

Leveraging the power of Xperience by Kentico, iMedia implemented a centralized content architecture that streamlined governance and reduced redundancy. Content Hub, with its reusable content asset types and strategically developed preset templates, significantly accelerated production and ensured consistency throughout the build. A sophisticated Lucene-powered site search further enhanced discoverability and usability across the experience.

Multi-Site Brand Alignment 

Given the aggressive timeline, iMedia worked closely with six external partners to guide the adoption of the updated Star One branding. Chatbot-driven workflows assisted in capturing requirements, standardizing content needs, and ensuring each site launched with a cohesive, aligned digital identity. 

Scalable Digital Ecosystem 

The new platform positions Star One to anticipate member needs by centrally collecting user experience data and making it accessible to staff through integrated CRM capabilities. With reusable content, consistent templates, and scalable architecture, Star One now has a future-ready digital foundation that supports ongoing growth across all member touchpoints.
